I recently found out about the Open Civil War mod. It really has peaked my curiosity, especially the ability to fight in cut content battles, siege relief battles, and the ability to gain/lose holds. However, after reading both of the descriptions on the SE and classic nexus pages, I must confess I'm having a difficult time understanding what this mod is/does.
It looks like the mod adds an enhanced war map giving the PC the ability to win or lose forts and holds through the war map mini game. It also appears that the PC can attack a holds capital (Riften for example) and the player can actively fight in these battles in real time.
What isn't clear to me is how much of this is done in the map and how much of it is real time? I think I read a forum post that said you can't attack minor forts like with Recurring Sieges.
So here is what I think OCW can do, please correct me if I'm wrong.
- PC can take control of minor forts using the battle map. But the PC can't actively fight in minor fort sieges except through the vanilla quest. So for example to take Fort Dunstad you could take it through the war map or through the vanilla quest mode.
- PC can take control of holds by attacking the capital, Riften for example. The PC can actively fight in these sieges or through the war map.
- The PC can use OCW to take control of minor forts and hold capitals bypassing the vanilla quest (with the exception of the final capital). If the PC takes control of everything except the final capital, but quest wise is in the early stages, how does that affect the quest line?
- The opposing side can take/retake forts and/or holds held by the side the PC joined by means of 'upheavals'. I'm really not clear on this part works.
- The opposing side can, under the right conditions, attack a hold's capital help by the side the PC joined. The PC can actively fight in these 'siege relief' battles.
- Stats effect stuff :)
Pdf cable wenglor s2fp connector pin map. Not sure why I'm having such a hard time understanding this mod but any information people who have used this mod can provide would be very much appreciated.
Bonus questions: Does anyone know if this mod is compatible with Civil War Recurring Sieges? It seems like these would fit good together. How about compatibility with Diverse Skyrim, Diverse Civil War Soldiers, Immersive Patrols, Second Great War? Thanks!

This is my first fanfic (much less POSTED fanfic) which I am working on casually to get the imaginative stuff that pops up in my head from playing ES V. I am basing the story loosely on this character's progression through the questlines, giving it backstory and also just having a little fun :P I hope to add more along the way, but additional chapters could be sporadic due to the struggle in finding time to sit my butt down and write them in the midst of my insane life.
As a woman of mixed Nordic and Breton heritage, Brynja was pretty familiar with being a part of two worlds but never fully belonging in either. Her appearance was that of a Breton yet her spirit was that of a Nord. She was quite content living a quiet life as a hunter, being able to float beneath the radar and slip through the world unnoticed. Fate, however, had different plans.
Returning to Skyrim to complete some 'unfinished business', Brynja's world is shaken when she is revealed as Dovahkiin, and the road she must travel is intimately interwoven with the civil war which threatens to shatter the land she calls home.
Over six months have passed since Skyrim was released and ..THE CIVIL WAR QUESTLINE IS STILL BUGGED !!!???!!!
This is a MAJOR questline.
I'm referring to the bug regarding the conflict between 'Seasons Unending' and the Imperial Legion 'Reunification of Skyrim' quest.
General Tullius sent me to liberate the Winterhold hold. But .. that is already an Imperial controlled hold as a result of the negotiatioms of Season Unending. Thus Legate Rikke at the Winterhold Imperial Camp does not give me any dialog options to continue the quest. The quest objective arrow just continues to hang over her. .. and nothing happens.
What do I do? Is there a console command to tell General Tulius that the Imperials already have the Winterhold Hold?
General Tullius is not the Bumbling Stupid Idiot .. the Bumbling Stupid Idiot is/are the people who programmed him.
Yes I'm angry. Six months and this known major bug isn't fixed.
With vigorous and thorough exploration, your Skyrim world map can become dotted with over 100 locations all around the world. There are different icons to denote what a location is (a hold, farm, shrine, etc.).
If you're ever confused as to what an icon on the map means, be sure to read up on the Map Legend.
