Printing a PDF without its background can save you ink, which can save you money. Another reason you might want to remove the background from a PDF is so that you can print the file on paper with an existing image, such as your business stationary. One way you can do this is to hide the background layer, though not all PDFs with backgrounds have such layers. If you are printing a form, Adobe Reader allows you print its fields without the background. Another approach is to use an application capable of inserting a blank background in place of the original background.

Open a PDF file in Adobe Reader and click 'View | Show/Hide | Navigation | Layers' to reveal the Layers panel.

Install the free Pdf995 printer driver, the Free Converter app and PdfEdit995 from the Pdf995 homepage (link in Resources).

Create a white-filled image file named 'bground.jpg' sized to at least 900 by 1100 pixels, using any image-editing program such as GIMP, Paint or Photoshop. Print this image to the 'PDF995' device in your imaging program's Print dialog box.

Run PdfEdit995 and then click the 'Create Stationary' button on the Stationary tab. Open the PDF that you want to print in Adobe Reader, and then print the PDF file to the 'PDF995' device. Close the document and return to PdfEdit995.

Check the 'Place stationary in background' check box on the Stationary tab, then click the 'Impose stationary' button to insert the blank background you created. Print the PDF in Adobe Reader.

Open the PDF file in Acrobat, click 'View' and open the 'Tools' submenu.

After the last Windows 10 update. This feature had been working and it still works on my desktop PC and my Windows 10 phone which are all sync'd.I can select the option to create a new pin, enter my 4 digit code and it seems to start doing something but nothing ever happens. Windows 10 cannot add pin. The Login PIN I created no longer works and I'm prompted to use my MS password.

Start > Control Panel > Appearance > Display > Change Color Scheme > Advanced.., select Window from the dropdown, change Color 1.

Go to your Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Personalization.
Then click on the link that says 'Window Color' (second icon from the left on the bottom of the window.
Under the dropdown labeled 'Item:', select Window, then Change the Color. This should get you what you want.
I do it every time I get a new computer because the white hurts my eyes, and all I do is stare at excel spreadsheets for work.

You may want to turn the brightness or contrast down on your monitor to make it easier on your eyes. Many LCD monitors ship with excessively bright default settings because they look good in a store display. If you're running on a laptop, turning the brightness down may improve battery life slightly.

If you enable High Contrast while on Windows, most browsers automatically adapt sites to black background with white letters, if you're using the browser Google Chrome, you could use the high-contrast extension to make it able to change the sites background without messing up the other things the Windows high contrast gives:
The extension also works when a sites defines its own css styles with a white background.

A background appearsbehind text or images on the page. The background can be as simpleas a solid color, or you can use an image. You can selectively applya background to only specific pages or page ranges in one or morePDFs. A PDF supports only one background per page, but the backgroundscan vary from page to page.
If the original image file that you are using as a background change, you can update the PDF to show the new version of the image rather than removing the old version and readding the new one.
